Job Description – Environmental Scientist/Engineer
Integrated Materials Solutions (IMS) is an environmental company specialising in the sustainable management of construction wastes and provision of a range of environmental services. The company was established in 2017 and works with a range of clients across the construction and industrial sectors.
IMS operate an EPA licenced waste facility in Dublin and operate across a number of sites in the greater Dublin area. IMS provide several field services including sampling, monitoring, dewatering and reporting through our IMS Site Services company. Job Role:
We are currently looking for an Environmental Scientist/Engineer to join our team based in our facility in north Co. Dublin. The role involves assisting with the management of the day-to-day operations at an EPA authorised site, ensuring compliance with the Licence, maintaining NSAI quality management systems, working with site team and management and liaising with stakeholders.
This is a permanent role with a competitive salary and benefits package.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Acting as deputy facility manager at a busy waste management facility assisting with EPA licence compliance, Health & Safety and Environmental management.
- Conducting field work including water and soil sampling and data collection.
- Preparing environmental monitoring reports and assessing environmental data.
- Support weighbridge, accounts and site staff.
- Organising hauliers and external contractors.
- Stakeholder engagement including community, customers, regulators.
- Carrying out site inspections.
- Identifying, prioritising and scheduling site maintenance.
- Assessing third party site investigation reports and preparing waste characterisation assessments.
- Record keeping and reporting.
Experience/Qualifications:
- Qualification in environmental science, geoscience, engineering, agricultural science, construction or similar.
- Experience in one of the following areas an advantage but not essential; waste management, landfill, quarry, EPA regulated site management, environmental science/engineering, health and safety or geoscience.
- Driver’s licence.
- Good acumen for technical and physical work.
- Good communication, teamwork, organisations skills with attention to detail.
